Here are some tips that may help you

• Virus - If you suspect you have a virus, do not turn your system off or you may risk spreading of the infection. Get a Virus detection program such as Norton, install it and then run it. (Follow the instructions on the install mode for suspecting a virus)
• Slow PC - It is very important to turn your PC off through the "Shut Down" process so that all of the files that are in use can be put back where they belong. If you shut down your PC improperly, you will eventually notice that it will begin to run slow and become unstable when trying to use certain programs. If this becomes the case, try running Scan Disk, then run Disk Defrag. Although this will cure most sluggishness, other problems could be at fault as well.
• Reinstalling Windows - If you must reinstall Windows over the top of Windows, be sure to back up your information and files you wish not to loose. You should only loose your Bookmarks and downloaded mail however expect the worst ....so back up, back up, back up!
• Files & Programs - Once you create a file, it is going to stay on your computer where you saved it. However, if the program that you use to view it becomes corrupt, you may not be able to access the files. This is generally not a problem. Make sure that the files you have created are not stored in the root folder of the program itself. If they are, simply highlight them choose copy and paste them to another folder outside of the root folder. Reinstall the program and that should cure the problem. Just navigate to the folder where you moved the files to.
